BRIDGET SURTEES has a special interest in a low-carb approach for therapeutic use in both children and adults. A registered dietician with more than 26 years of experience in nutrition and dietetics, she has a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Honours in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Cape Town. She specialised as a paediatric dietician and worked in the world-renowned University College London Hospital for six years before moving to Australia, where she worked in the Sydney Children’s Hospital. In 2012, she returned to Cape Town, where she co-founded Real Food Dietitians, www.realfooddietitians.co.za, where she continues to work as the registered dietician. Her goal is to empower her clients with the knowledge and skills they need to make sustainable changes to their eating habits and improve their overall health and wellbeing in the long term.
Bridget co-authored the best-selling book Raising Superheroes with Professor Tim Noakes and Jonno Proudfoot, and is the consultant dietician for Real Meal Revolution, a nutrition programme and lifestyle approach that promotes a low-carb, high-fat diet to improve health and manage weight. Her wealth of knowledge and experience make her a highly respected and sought-after expert in her field.
